Selling a covered call rents out shares you already own: you collect a premium now and agree to sell at a set price if the stock gets there. It works best on companies you'd be content to hold either way, which is why this list starts from quality rather than from the fattest premium — a rich premium is the market pricing risk, not a gift. These are large US-listed dividend payers ($10B+), the corner of the market where listed options actually trade.
